‘Vote theft in Maha elections’: Rahul wants a machine-easy digital voter role

Giving flags to the alleged irregularities in the Maharashtra assembly elections in 2024, Congress MP and opposition Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claimed that they were not isolated, but demanded immediate release of CCTV footage along with “vote theft”, and machine-sanctified digital voter roles as well as machine-elective digital voters.
LOP shared on the XA media report, claiming that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and Maharashtra Assembly elections, Nagpur South West in only six months – BJP leader and seat held by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis – 29,219 new voters were added.
Gandhi said in his post, “In his constituency of Maharashtra CM, the voter list increased by 8% in just 5 months. Some booths saw an increase of 20-50%. Bloss reported to vote for unknown persons.”

In Maharashtra CM’s own constituency, the voter list increased by 8% in just 5 months.
Some booths saw an increase of 20–50%.

Gandhi’s comment came on a day, it was revealed that the Election Commission of India formally wrote to him on allegations of rigging in the 2024 elections, stating that all the election is strictly passed by the Parliament in accordance with the rules and laws passed by the Parliament, and the entire practice included thousands of personnel, which have been appointed by political aspects.
In a letter to Gandhi on 12 June in response to its article published in a major national daily, the ECI said that the entire election process in Maharashtra was held in a decentralized manner at the assembly block level, with 1 lakh booth-level officers (BLOS), 288 electoral registration officers (EROS), 41 General Absarars, 41 Police Obsurs, 41 (ROS).
“We believe that any issue about the conduct of elections has already been raised through the election petitions filed by the Inc. Candidates,” Gandhi said.
“However, if you still have a problem, you welcome us to write and the Commission is ready to meet you personally on a mutual convenient date and time to discuss all the issues,” said the Poll Authority.

RJD, AIMIM urged the time limit expansion for voter list

The Supreme Court announced on Friday, August 29, that it will hear petitions filed by RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) and AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Idena-ul-Musslimin), who seek more time for voters, blessing for assembly elections at the end of this year.
For example, the hearing date matches the current deadline to enter such claims and objections – 1 September.

The court was decided after Advocate Prashant Bhushan and senior advocate Shoaib Alam, who representing RJD, informed the bench that several applications were requested to expand the deadline.

“The number of claims filed is increasing rapidly. The deadline needs to be extended,” Alam told the court.
Pasha said that about 80,000 claims were filed before the court’s 22 August order. The number increased to 95,000 after the order.
“We are requesting to listed these applications as soon as possible,” said Pasha.

VP Vance says
