Rivist NCP groups fight it to control sugar mill in Baramati

Elections are going on for Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Mill in Baramati on Sunday, 22 June, where Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is contesting for the post of chairperson. Rival NCP (SP) led by Sharad Pawar has also entered the ground.
Ajit Pawar is one of the 90 candidates, who contests elections under the banner of various panels, for the 21-member board of Sugar Mill located in Baramati. Only members of the mill are eligible to vote.
The Nilakantheshwar panel led by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Ajit Pawar, who is contesting cooperative sugar mill after more than four decades, currently takes power in the mill.
The results will be declared on 24 June.
In addition to the Nilakantheshwar panel and Ranjan Tawre -led Bachhav, Sharad Pawar -led NCP (SP) has entered the ground after swimming the ‘Baliraja Sahkar Bachhav’ panel, which is making the competition triangular. Sharad Pawar is not directly in the field.
Ajit Pawar On Sunday morning, cast your vote in Baramati and hoped that people would vote for development.
“This is an election held through a democratic process. Voters have the right to choose their representative. It will decide who will bring development. I am a candidate for the post of president. I have been working here for 35 years,” Ajit Pawar told reporters after his vote.
On the morning of Wednesday, 18 June, supporters of Bachhav and Balirja Panels alleged that a voter list was found inside the Pune District Central Cooperative Bank, headed by Ajit Pawar.
Supriya Sule, a NCP (SP) MP and daughter of Sharad Pawar, demanded an inquiry by a special investigation team (SIT) in the incident.
When asked about this, Ajit Pawar said that he does not need to respond to anyone’s random demands.
Prior to the 2023 partition in NCP, only one panel (Neelkanthshwar) represented the Pawar family on the sugar mill board.

RJD, AIMIM urged the time limit expansion for voter list

The Supreme Court announced on Friday, August 29, that it will hear petitions filed by RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) and AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Idena-ul-Musslimin), who seek more time for voters, blessing for assembly elections at the end of this year.
For example, the hearing date matches the current deadline to enter such claims and objections – 1 September.

The court was decided after Advocate Prashant Bhushan and senior advocate Shoaib Alam, who representing RJD, informed the bench that several applications were requested to expand the deadline.
Nizam Pasha, representing AIMIM, supported more time requirement due to the large number of claims being filed.
“The number of claims filed is increasing rapidly. The deadline needs to be extended,” Alam told the court.
Pasha said that about 80,000 claims were filed before the court’s 22 August order. The number increased to 95,000 after the order.
“We are requesting to listed these applications as soon as possible,” said Pasha.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza, about 63,000 people have died in Gaza since the war started. VP Vance says

Earlier this month, President Trump called Vance a “most likely” successor for the Maga movement, but VP has speculated about its 2028 schemes.
