He also said how the traditional ceremony was included in China’s official regulations in 2007, as well as a section that clearly banned intervention by foreign individuals and parties.

Significantly, the question related to the Dalai Lama’s succession scheme and Mao’s answer was clearly missing from the official transcript of media briefing posted on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.

Mao also defended the “sinning” of Tibetan Buddhism and other religions under the guidelines issued by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“I believe that the sin of religion is not about restricting religious practice; rather, all religions should suit the social, cultural and historical context of the country. Tibetan Buddhism in China is a prominent example of a religion that has integrated Chinese characteristics that integrates the process of sinners,” said Maa.

A comment on the succession of the Dalai Lama denied official recognition by the state’s Xinhua news agency on Tuesday, July 1, without appropriate rituals.

Any so -called “rebirth” that bypasses traditional religious rituals, whether it is held within or outside the Chinese, is lacking and in any way will not be recognized by the Tibetan Buddhist followers.
