Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 Live Update: Another 90 meters on the card? Bengaluru star-staded neck hosts classic
Hand held at Sri Kantirwa Stadium in Bengaluru, this is the first time India is hosting an international track and field event of such height, keeping it on a global map similar to cities like Doha, Paris and Nairobi.
The meeting is co-accepted by Neeraj Chopra itself by JSW Sports, Athletics Federation of India (AFI) and World Athletics. More than only one sports competition, it is a celebration of Indian athletics that enters a new era of global recognition.
“It feels great that such an incident is happening in India and such good athletes have come here to compete together. I am very excited for this incident. It is difficult to organize and play together. I have always focused on playing, but now I have to take care of everything. As an organizer, I have to think about all these small things.
The evening spotlight event, of course, begins at 7:00 pm, men’s spear throw, where Neeraj will take some of the best in the world. The lineup features top contestants such as Olympic champion Thomas Roaler (Germany), former world champion Julius Yigo (Kenya), and Curtis Thompson (USA) and Cyprian MRJilgol (Poland).
The Indian team is equally strong with Rohit Yadav, Sachin Yadav, Sahil Silwal and Yash Veer Singh.
The NC classic is important for Neeraj as he creates speed towards the World Championship in Tokyo. He enters the meeting on a two-event winning line, including a surprising national record of 90.23 meters set in Doha.
The event makes much more promises than Elite Sport. There will be pre-phenomenon music by Haryanvi rapper Dhada Nyolula in the headlines, and a special felicitation for Jane Zelejony, Neeraj’s coach and Jewelin World Record holder.
