Constitution is a quiet revolution

Its drafts, he said, Representatives of some of the most marginalized communities in India were involved – Dalits, Adivasis, women, religious minorities, disabled persons, and even labeled “criminal tribes” in the east.
“Constitution is a social document, a one who does not avoid its gaze from the cruel truths of caste, poverty, exclusion and injustice. It does not show that all are similar in the land surrounded by deep inequality. Instead, it dare to intervene, to write the screenplay again, and to re -organize the dirty,” he said.
The CJI said that the constitution within it is “the heartbeat of those who could never be heard, and the vision of a country where equality is not promised, rather chasing”.
“It forces the state to repair not only to protect rights, but also to actively uplift, to confirm,” he said.
Referring to BR Ambedkar’s legacy, the CJI said he was a visionary who turned his living experience of discrimination of caste into a global understanding of justice.
“He believed that democracy cannot live until it lies on the basis of social democracy,” CJI Gawai quoted Ambedkar’s historic 1949 Constitution Assembly Speech.
The CJI stated that Ambedkar saw political representation as an essential investigation against the hierarchy and arbitrary power of an essential caste, which is a mechanism to redefine not only institutional power, but also social dignity.
“In an uneven society, he believed that democracy cannot survive until even power is divided among communities, not only between institutions. Representation, therefore, was a mechanism of rebuilding power, not only between the legislature, executive and judiciary, but among the social groups, which had been denied a share for centuries,” he said.

Cruel tool for economic injustice, corporate chronism: Rahul Slam GST

With the Goods and Services Tax (GST) completing eight years, Congress MP and opposition Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claimed that it is “a cruel tool of corporate chronicism” and said that a improved GST should be “people-first, business-friendly, and actually federal”.
Lok Sabha Lop said that India deserves a tax system that works for everyone, not only something privileged, so that every Indian, from small shopkeepers to farmers, can be a stakeholder in the progress of the nation.
“After eight years, the GST of the Modi government is not a tax reform – it is a cruel tool of economic injustice and corporate chronism. It was designed to punish the poor, to crush MSMEs, reduce the states and benefit some of the Prime Minister’s billionaire friends,” he said in a post on X.
“One ‘good and simple tax’ was promised. Instead, India received a nightmare and five-slab tax regime, which has been revised more than 900 times. Even Carmel Popcorn and Cream Buns are trapped in its web of confusion,” Gandhi said.

A “good and simple tax” …– Rahul Gandhi (@Rulgandhi) 1 July, 2025
The bureaucratic labyrinth is a favor of Big Corporates, who can navigate their flaws with the armies of accountants, while small shopkeepers, MSMEs, and ordinary traders drowned in red tape, claimed that the GST portal remains a source of daily harassment.
“MSMES – India’s largest job makers have suffered the most loss. More than 18 lakh enterprises have shut down since GST rollouts eight years ago. Citizens now pay GST on everything ranging from tea to health insurance, while corporates enjoy more than ₹ 1 lakh crore in a break annually,” Gandhi said.
He said that petrol and diesel have been deliberately excluded from the GST structure, hurting farmers, transporters and common people, they said.
Gandhi alleged, “GST arrears are also armed to punish non-BJP ruled states-clear evidence of the federal anti-agenda of the Modi government,” Gandhi accused.
He said that GST was a visionary idea by UPA, which meant to unite the markets of India and simplify taxation. Gandhi said, “But its promise has been cheated by poor implementation, political prejudice, and bureaucracy overache. A improved GST should be people-first, business-friendly and really federal in emotion,” Gandhi said.

Congress workers sell cows, wave black flags on CM

Opposition Congress workers on Monday waved black flags in the convoy of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa in the convoy of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, as they were opposing the alleged sales of 90 Gir cows, which were purchased by the government, including individuals, including the minister’s wife. Police said four people were detained in connection with the incident.
The Congress party started protests by the state government at all district headquarters against the alleged sales of cows purchased during the 2022-23 financial year for its Garukuti Agricultural Project.
Public Health Engineering Department Minister Jayant Malla Barua recently claimed that 90 of these cows were sold to private individuals as they were “insufficient infrastructure” at home. Subsequently, a list was released which showed that the minister’s wife allegedly bought 20 of these cows.
Apart from protest, the Congress also filed complaints at various police stations, demanding action against the alleged “abuse, deception and corruption” of public property in connection with the purchase of cows for the project.
The Chief Minister, who was on a day visit to Golaghat, later told reporters: “Congress will have to protest. How will they live otherwise? I really appreciate that they came out to protest in this summer. He too will have to answer his leaders, “he said.
Referring to the sales of cows, Sarma said that it is surprising that a party supporting ‘Qurbani’ during Eid is now protesting against cows that were rescued and given shelter. “This is the ‘religion’ of the BJP to protect cows and some of them have done. The Congress has no moral right to oppose it, “he said.
