F1 Leader Oscar Piastry will not do preference treatment in McLaren

Formula 1 leader Oscar Piastry said that he would not do preference treatment in the title fight with McLaren team fellow Lando Noris and would continue to run independently after colliding in Canada.

Piastry said that he and Noris, who had accepted the defect, had already cleaned the air after the race and there was no change in the “Papaya Rules” of the team of engagement on the same condition without a number one.
They did not expect anything about changing anything.
He said, “We are still free to the race, yet are fighting for a championship. So, no, keep racing and make sure we don’t come in contact again,” he said.
Asked about his “healthy” lead, and can he seek preference treatment, Piastry questioned the reporter.
“Your healthy version is much larger than me,” he said. “I just want, and we all want, both are trying to win the championship a reasonable opportunity. Especially in the championships of drivers because it can eventually be only one of us.
“I think the situation will have to change dramatically to start those conversations, and they are a very long way at this time.
“So at the moment, I can only ask that there is a proper opportunity to win and win the championship, and that’s what I want. No, I am not ready to enter those talks.”
McLaren has won seven out of 10 races, with Max Vestapen of Red Bull, two and George Russell of Mercedes are taking victorious in Canada.
Despite the success of McLaren, and in the standing of the constructs, there are 175 points on Mercedes, Piastry is only 43 clear of Verustapen in third place.
Canada was the first race without the McLaren driver on the first line or podium this season, but Piastry said he was confident that he would be strong in Austria.
Noris told reporters differently that what happened in Canada had made the team strong and he felt “good and excited” for the weekend.
“These mistakes are the part of the game and human to make mistakes, and we have become much better as a team how we learn and improve from it. And from that point, it was an unfortunate positive,” he said.
“But this is a good result. A lot has been learned and many things have turned into more stronger than before.”
