‘Cheap politics’ by governor is worse than opposition: Tamil Nadu CM Stalin
The governor came a few days after using his Independence Day address to highlight concerns over the use of drugs in the state and the safety of women. Stalin competed with data, pointing out that Tamil Nadu finished second in schooling and managed to attract an investment of Rs 10 lakh crore in thanks to stable law and order in the last four years.
On the safety of women, he called for data from the National Crime Records Bureau since 2022 that “BJP -ruled Uttar Pradesh tops crimes against women. Therefore, the Governor should target BJP ruled states”.
Stalin also alleged that “Union BJP government is taking its cheap politics through the Governor, which is constantly working against Tamil, Tamil Nadu, its people and feelings”. Nevertheless, he also claimed that Ravi’s presence eventually benefited the cause of DMK. He said, “He is effectively ensuring that our fire becomes bright for language, race and ideology. Let it talk, I am not upset. I am only upset about you, I want to be true for you who have voted for us,” he told the gathering.
Turning to the achievements of the government, Stalin listed a string of the initiative, including “Angaludan Stalin, Nalan Kakum Stalin, Thiyumanwar Scheme”, saying that the beneficiaries themselves became ambassadors of these programs. He inaugurated projects worth Rs 367.77 crore, laid the foundation for another Rs and Rs 512 crore work, and announced new industrial allocation in SIPCOT Industrial Park.
Recalling the DMK -led contribution in a district such as Hogen Called Integrated Drinking Water Scheme, Stalin also highlighted the state’s ‘Vidyal Pionam’ free bus travel plan for women. He said, “The expenses involved in this were seen as savings by women in four years. Given its success, the initiative has been implemented by the concerned governments in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
In this event, a pilot of a cooperative department was also seen so that farmers can be provided interest-free crop loans to farmers applying online, with the assurance of dysbersal of the same day. An official release said that the initiative starting in Dharmapuri will soon expand in Tamil Nadu.
In a large political background, Stalin’s fiery comments not only reflect a state-bamn-governor dispute, but Ravi to frame Ravi as a proxy for BJP’s influence in Tamil Nadu-DMK’s determination-a running story that has turned the Raj Bhavan into an electric rod for a liquor resistance.

Derek O’Brien says that CMS fails to motivate confidence under the JPC, 30-day arrest on PM.
As many opposition parties have announced that they will not participate in the Joint Parliamentary Committee, who will look into the new bills proposed to remove the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers and other ministers, if arrested for 30 days, Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien said on Friday that the panel does not motivate trust.
He listed examples of opposition objections to Joint Parliamentary Committees (JPC), which usually dominate the MLAs of the ruling party.
In a blog of six reasons published on Friday, why ‘six reasons why JPCS do not Inspolar Confidence’, the Rajya Sabha leader cited the previous cases, where the opposition raised objections before the JPC.
Referring to the joint panel formed in 1987 to investigate the Bofors contract scam, he said that six major opposition parties boycotted the committee as most of its members were from the Congress.
He said, “Two parties are still BJP allies: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Asom Gan Parishad (AGP). The report of the committee submitted in 1988 was rejected by the opposition (non-Congress) to be biased,” he said.
The TMC leader also referred to the JPC set up in 2013 to investigate the Augusta Westland VVIP Choppers case. When the proposal for its formation was passed in the Rajya Sabha, the then leader of the opposition Arun Jaitley said that it was written by the government.
Since 2014, Parliament has established 11 JPCs, O’Bheen said, saying that the proposal for formation of JPC was adopted in seven cases on the last day of the session. “Conversely, between 2004 and 2014, three JPCs were installed, no set on the last day,” he said.
The TMC leader also indicated a recent report of a JPC on the Waqf Amendment Bill, which was introduced in Parliament after rebuating the opposition’s dissatisfaction notes.
He said, “After the outspoken protests by the opposition, BJP MP Medha Kulkarni, who reported in the Rajya Sabha in the morning, had to be taken to the post of a corerigandam for Appendix 5, which included notes that were re -included,” he wrote.
