India cannot remain ‘muted spectator’ because Trump WTO: destroys institutions like Congress

Ramesh said, “India has the highest bet in such international agreements and institutions. It cannot be a silent audience and cannot be satisfied with slogans and brief names,” Ramesh said.
Following his comment, President Trump issued an executive order listing various duties, which will apply to exports from countries around the world.
India will face 25 percent tariff on its exports to the US.
Executive order, however, Trump stated that India had not referred to the penalty to pay to India due to the purchase of Russian military equipment and energy.
On Wednesday, Trump announced an additional penalty for the purchase of 25 percent tariff on India and the purchase of New Delhi from Russia through a post on his social media website Truth Social.
While 1 August tariff was the deadline, the new Levi will be applicable from August 7.
In April, Trump announced that India would face 26 percent of concessional mutual tariffs, which is now higher than the declared rate.
In its response to the US tariff declaration, India has said that it will take all necessary steps to protect and promote national interest and the implications of tariffs are being investigated.
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal’s remarks in Parliament on the US tariff declaration as “non-places”, on Thursday, the Congress said that it was stated in everyone that it was all “completely wrongly self-stunned” and claimed that the concerns and feelings of Indian businesses were not addressed.
Goyal said on Thursday that India will take all necessary steps to protect and promote national interest. His comment came a day after Trump announced 25 percent tariffs and fine on domestic exports to the US from 1 August.

The revolution ignited by ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ will spread throughout the country: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Saturday that his ‘Voter Abhikar Yatra’ was a revolution that started in Bihar, which was aimed at “not stolen a vote” in the election, but would spread all over the country.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha was addressing a rally at the last day of the third phase of his state-wide journey, a rally at Araha, the headquarters of Bhojpur district, which will conclude in Patna two days later.
“Bihar is a land where revolutions have taken place. The response to the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ has proved that another revolution has started from Bihar. In the coming days, it will attach the whole country,” Gandhi said.
The yatra has covered more than 1,000 km in 25 districts in the last few weeks.
Training his guns at the Center, the former Congress president alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP-RSS “serve the interests of the super rich, one of the reasons why they want to suppress the voice of the youth, who have been looted opportunities due to privatization of public sector undertakings”.
“But we have made it clear that the voice of poor youth will resonate across the country, and in Bihar, we will not allow one vote to be stolen,” Gandhi said, which Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav joined the stage, in addition to Bihar colleagues Tejashvi Yadav (RJD) (Sajjad) (soldier).
“Remember, if your vote is stolen, you will be robbed of your future. The right to vote is given to you by the Constitution, which is an incarnation of Mahatma Gandhi and Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideals. We should protect it,” he said.
